Regional police arrested four people and seized nearly 250,000 methamphetamine tablets in Chachoengsao.
Provincial Police Region 2 commander Pol. Lt. Gen. Jithi Rodbangyang announced the arrests of Surchai Sungthong, 31, Nisa Meeyaem, 35, Chaiyut Napalai, 34, and Phasakorn Wongmak, 22, at a May 22 news conference.
Phasakorn was arrested with 5,200 ya ba tablets and 45.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The other three were captured outside a HomePro store on Sirisothorn Road in Chachoengsao’s Namuang Sub-district May 19 with 240,000 ya ba pills.
All were charged with possession with intent to distribute Class 1 narcotics. The three apprehended outside HomePro also were charged with resisting arrest.
Two cars and three phones also were confiscated.
Jithi called the arrest a big one for the eastern region, explaining that the methamphetamines came from a larger dealer in Nakhon Pathom and were destined for sale in Rayong. They were caught by Chachoengsao in a sting operation in which undercover officers set up a meeting to accept delivery of the narcotics.
