Three Frenchmen were arrested for allegedly counterfeiting fake euro banknotes in Pattaya for the past two years.

Camille Cinerelli, 29, Elie Maghames, 28, and Alexander Jean La Rocca, 31, were brought to a press conference March 6 with officers from the Transnational Crime Coordination Center and Eric Franclet, a police representative from the French embassy in Bangkok.

The three men were arrested separately at their East Pattaya homes and slapped with counterfeiting, export and tax charges for selling fake 50 euro notes online to European customers, most of whom were in France.

Police seized 5,250 euros worth of funny money, computers, mobile phones, print equipment and supplies from their three houses.

Police said the three confessed to operating a counterfeiting operation in Pattaya for the past two years, earning more than 20 million baht by selling bogus euros online around Europe and even Canada.
