DASTA also presented gold medals Feb. 11 to the Amari Orchid Resort & Tower, Cholchan Pattaya Resort Hotel, and Eastiny Hotel Pattaya for their efforts to promote sustainable tourism.

Sakol Thinakul, deputy director-general for DEQP, led a training session participated in by representatives from hotels in the Pattaya area, management from DSATA and DEQP, and relevant officers.
Hospitality businesses must be responsible for environmental conservation, the attendees were told, yet few hotels have been internationally certified as environmentally conscious operations.
The three gold medal winners in the Green Hotel project were joined by two bronze winners: the Wave Hotel and Cape Dara Resort.
Additionally, the Hilton Pattaya received a certificate of Service Project as an Environmental Friendly Hotel Business.
