Sub district Khet Udomsak officials educated residents about the dangers of dengue fever and how to prevent it during a 13-community walk through the city.
Mayor Pairoj Malakul Na Ayuttaya led the Feb. 12 parade at city hall attended by about 300 administrators, community leaders, navy personnel, students, and residents.

Khet Udomsak Permanent Secretary Sombun Chumpalee said 64 dengue cases were reported from Oct. 1, 2012 to Sept. 30, 2013. None were fatal.
However, Pairoj said, “Mosquito suppression projects have been lagging and danger is there. Serious eradication is required for dengue fever to be reduced.”
The participants split into five groups and walked through the communities of Wat Khao Khantamat, Thepprasart, Ma-nam, Toey-ngam, Laemtien, Khao Phetya-ngam, Thungprong, Klongkanda, Nongrakam, Bonkai, and Dongtan, and Juksamet. Volunteers distributed abatement sand and educational materials on destroying mosquito breeding grounds.
