Thirty-two Pattaya residents and organizations were recognized for their community service efforts and adaptation of the kingdom’s “sufficiency economy” philosophy.

Mayor Sonthaya Kunplome handed out the plaques July 4, saying their deeds required cooperation, sacrifice, all-out effort, intelligence and generosity.

The Soi Khopai Community and 5 December Community received special commendation for instilling the sufficiency-economy principles among residents while Surin Yimyai of 5 December, Samreung Vanvon of Soi Khopai, Patcharapon Charoenpol of the Chumsai Community and Jantra Aemic of Jantra Food won the same awards on an individual level.

Also recognized with plaques were Soi Khopai President Wirat Joyjinda, Sriwipa Plumsuk of the Paniadchang Community and Pornpat Rachavechapisan from the Central Pattaya Community, Yuparat Phuwong from Chumsai, Yupaporn Charoendee from the Tonkrabok Community, Payao Mekklean from Chumsai, Nuanlaor Khunnaklad from the Nongtabok Community, Sorasak Thongbongpetch from the Koh Lan Community, Anongnat Chuesrisakul from Chumsai, Parichat Klinsukon from the Naklua Old Market Community and Naree Srimok from the Wat Chaimongkol Community.

A further 15 more people received certificates honoring their public-service work.
