Three dozen people hoping for a new career are learning about foot and health massage at a month-long city workshop.
Pattaya Deputy Mayor Wutisak Rermkitkarn and Social Development Department Director Pannee Limcharoen kicked off the Feb. 4-28 course at the Soi Nongket Yai Community office. The course runs 150 hours and is being taught by four massage therapists from Phanat Nikhom Hospital.
Students, teachers and city officials cheer on the beginning of the new vocational workshop.
Wutisak said the 300,000 baht program is just the latest vocational-training program offered by the city to aid the unemployed. The course was only open to those with no massage experience.
