More than 3,600 cadets graduated from the Naval Recruit Training Center in Sattahip, taking up service as Royal Thai Marines.
Vice Adm. Bongsuth Singhnarong, head of the Naval Education Department, presided over the ceremony and parade April 5.
Capt. Niwat Hacharoen, commander of the Naval Recruit Training Center, said 3,638 conscripts completed the two-month boot camp, undergoing theoretical and practical exercises to adapt to the military lifestyle, learn to conduct and behave properly, and focusing on weapons, loss prevention and social responsibilities.

The training also includes examination in battalion- and regiment-level techniques. Awards were handed out for top squads and individuals.
Bongsuth said the reports of physical education, presentations to honor the flag, and the parade prove the new marines are well trained and he urged them to use their knowledge to keep the peace.
