Thirty-seven illegal aliens were arrested as immigration police swept through Pattaya-area markets.
Chonburi Immigration Office officers and volunteers hit the Rattanakorn Market on Thepprasit Road Sept. 21 where they nabbed two Cambodians who claimed they were hired by a Thai person to sell vegetables and other products.
Authorities proceeded to the Buffalo and other area markets, where they found more Cambodians who also claimed they were hired to sell things for a Thai merchant.
All were rounded up and taken back to the immigration office for questioning and likely will be deported.
