Four male suspects were arrested last week during a police crime sweep through the area.

Wiriya “Wechsub”, 31, was charged with purse snatching. For his criminal acts he used a motorbike with the license plate distorted to avoid recognition. He was also in possession of a mobile phone and illegal drugs.

Komsan “Net” Songnok, 23, and Teerapong “Ying” Athiya, 26, were accomplices in the theft of cooking gas tanks, microwaves and a lawn mower. They admitted to having committed these crimes regularly in the Banglamung area.

Saran “Ram” Poonpat was caught with a 7.65 mm Thaipradith revolver and 0.38 grams of ya ice.

Pol. Col. Chidecha Song­hong, Superintendent of Nongprue Police, with Pol. Lt. Col. Nattakorn Mong­kolmaha and Pol. Maj. Kengsart Nuanpong announced the arrests at a June 1 press conference.

Chidecha said police will continue efforts to prevent crimes against the citizens of Banglamung, and punish criminals who do commit them.
