Pattaya City has ordered 40 brand new stainless steel garbage bins to be installed along the 2.7 km stretch of beach.
Poramet Ngampichet, Pattaya Mayor together with Deputy Mayor Manote Nongyai and Secretary to the mayor Phumpipat Kamolnart inspected an installed sample bin on Beach Road Sept. 5 where Deputy Mayor Manote pointed out that the new bins are separated into 3 sections, one for aluminum containers, one for glass and plastic waste and the third larger section for general waste.

He said that the aluminum bins replace the old plastic ones. The new bins are designed for easy automated collection and disposal. This will make the work of the city sanitation department’s workers much easier.
He said that people who make a living rummaging for usable items from the garbage will also find it easier to select recycle waste for resale which will earn them extra income. The deputy mayor said that once the 40 stainless steel garbage bins are installed on Pattaya Beach, the city will order more to be placed along Jomtien beach.
