Five of six suspects who allegedly conspired to kill a former teen beauty queen and a friend at Khao Chee Chan are now awaiting trial, but the man behind the plot remains on the run.

Bodyguard Kritsana Srisuk and alleged gunman Narong Warintarawej, both 22, were the latest to be put in cuffs with the former performing his police re-enactment Aug. 7.

Swearing to the giant Buddha on the mountain he had no part in killing 20-year-old Paveena Namuangrak and Anantachai Jaritrum, 21, Kritsana insisted he was only a driver and bodyguard for accused mastermind and gunman Panya Yingang. Police say he also rented the house where the murder plot was launched.

He turned himself in, fearing he’d be killed by rogue police officers.

Narong, meanwhile, was captured Aug. 6 in Nakhon Si Thammarat and was scheduled to do his re-enactment after being returned to Sattahip.

The two victims were walking back to their car July 29 when Panya and Narong allegedly confronted them. Police say Narong shot the young woman four times – twice in the head – and Panya shot Anatachai twice in the head.

Panya, 43, is believed to be hiding out in a Cambodia village near the Sa Kaeo border. Police say he was infatuated with the young woman who began working as a go-go dancer in his Phuket bar when she was just 16, but refused his advances. Panya believed her school friend Anatachai was her boyfriend.
