Three foreigners were arrested for illegally working as tour guides, along with the two Thais who allegedly employed them.
Acting on a tip from the Indian Tour Guide Association, Pattaya Tourist Police nabbed Myanmar nationals Aung Thi Ha, 27, and Yar Tha Oo, 24, and Indian Chandraveer Singh, 24, Sept. 20.
Speaking in Thai, the three denied any connection to tour guiding, but were arrested anyway as all three had expired passports and visas.
The three men said they were employed by two Thai women, who were later arrested. Kanokkan Srifah, 36, and Wanalee Kanong, 47, were charged with illegally employing foreigners to do jobs reserved for Thais.
