Five Chonburi offices were audited for irregularities in budgeting and spending.
Pornthep Pongsri, head of the province’s administrative office, said Aug. 3 that the Budget, Anti-Corruption Office, Highway, Education and Health Promotion departments all were to be inspected to follow up on progress of public works and budgets to prevent corruption.

The meeting was hosted by the Budget Bureau and the Anti-Corruption Office to follow up on budget usage in Chonburi during 2016.
More than 2 billion baht was requested for public works, backed up by 14 ministries and 67 organizations.
Auditors planned to begin their work Aug. 4 with results disclosed at a future meeting.
