More than 5,000 people are expected to hear famous deejays and singers mix traditional and modern music at the free Future of Sound concert in North Pattaya Saturday.
Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh and Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Director Suladda Sarutilavan on Feb. 2 put the finishing touches on the Feb. 14 concert at the Tawanna Night Bazaar court near Soi 6.

Starting at 6 p.m., the six-hour concert features Hugo Chulachak Chakrabongse, the first Thai artist signed by rapper Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label, and DJ Maft Sai, who mixes traditional Thai music of the 60s and 70s with modern beats. DJ Maft Sai’s live showcases, “Paradise Bangkok” and “Isan Dancehall” are performed throughout Thailand, as well as Vietnam and Europe.
Dom Chotivanich, creative director of organizer Memotion Co., said the goal of the event is to present a wide range of Thai music, from folk to contemporary, combined with international music whilst remaining uniquely Thai.
