Eight schoolchildren were injured when a container truck slammed into a school bus in Nong Plalai.
Twenty-two kids were aboard Srisuvit School Pattaya’s Toyota minibus when the accident occurred on Highway 36 Jan. 29. Injuries ran the gamut from scratches to skull fractures. All the injured were taken to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya for treatment.
Bus driver Manit Singhsomboon, 57, said he saw the Rayong delivery truck in front of him was carrying containers that were wobbling. Suddenly, several boxes fell off the truck and hit the bus, sending it into a ditch.
Children on their way to school were injured when a container truck lost its load and crashed into a school bus.
Truck driver Natthaphon Phoka, 24, said he was en route to Laem Chabang Port when, approaching a curve, he suddenly encountered a truck parked in his lane. He swerved to avoid it.
Natthaphon was arrested and charged with reckless driving resulting in injury.
