A German man working at a Naklua construction company is facing deportation after being caught living in Thailand for eight years without a passport.
Christian Gerrara Engel Mann, 54, was taken into custody by Chonburi Immigration police Dec. 21 at Yaksa Construction & Development Co.
He was unable to produce his passport and was taken to the Jomtien Beach immigration office. There he admitted he’d been living in the kingdom for eight years but had lost his passport “a long time ago”.
He was charged with residing illegally in Thailand was processed for deportation and will be blacklisted for 10 years from the kingdom.
