A Thai man out on bail after allegedly raping a Chinese tourist in October has been arrested again, this time for snatching a gold chain.
Naris Khunnean, 26, and accused cohort Jaroonwittaya Sawadkit, 21, were captured in front of an unnamed motorcycle garage in South Pattaya Jan. 9.
With them police found the borrowed motorbike used in the Jan. 5 robbery of Wipaporn Sonsomnuk, 27, on Thepprasit Road, her gold Phra Luang Pu Tud amulet and 3,900 baht cash.
Police said both men confessed that, around 12:30 a.m., they had followed Wipaporn down Thepprasit toward Jomtien Beach and when she stopped at a light, they ripped off her gold necklace worth 28,000 baht.
Naris had been arrested for the Oct. 21 rape of a Chinese tourist but had been released on bail.
