Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has opened the Road Safety Operations Center for the 7-day New Year danger prevention period.

With the long holidays approaching, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has opened the Road Safety Operations Center for the 7-day New Year danger prevention period.

The center, which will operate from Dec 29 to Jan 4 serves as a hub for collecting information to prevent and reduce road accidents during the New Year period.

Anutin stated that the Interior Ministry is fully prepared this year. They have conducted meetings with various network organizations and promoted the campaign to encourage people, who drink to refrain from driving instead of the ban on drunk driving.

This is because they believe that people who drink may not be aware of their level of intoxication. The campaign will be promoted nationwide.

He said that the center this year does not set a goal to reduce accidents but will focus on strict traffic discipline to control and prevent accidents, as well as reduce the number of fatalities. (TNA)
