City legal chief Sretapol Boonsawat led a group of engineers and authorities to make measurements of public property in the Chumsai Community Aug. 29, telling encroaching landholders their property must be removed within two weeks.

Community President Jirawat Plukjai also took the opportunity to show Sretapol an unnamed U-shaped soi near Pattaya Memorial Hospital that is being blocked by two vendors selling clothing and food.

The obstructions block access to the soi by emergency vehicles and worsen traffic, he complained.

The two sellers were told to remove their stands within 30 days.

In the case of the apartment houses and commercial buildings on Soi Chalermprakiat 19, the buildings themselves appeared to be legal, but all had constructed parking lots with roofs and other structures on public land.
