In a scenario many people only dream about, a Siam Commercial Bank user withdrew 1,000 baht from an ATM and received 70,000 through an apparent machine error.
Boonsong Pulsukserm, however, turned the cash into police.
The 57-year-old said he went to pull 1,000 baht from the SCB ATM in front of Buffalo Market on Thepprasit Road Aug. 29 when the machine kept spitting out bills.
He believes his account was not debited for the extra 69,000 baht, so he took it to police, who photographed and catalogued it before contacting the bank.
