Kamolthorn Eung, whose nickname is Pha Lek (Auntie Lek) has opened a kitchen in the Pha Lek Food Court in Naklua to hand out free vegetarian dishes during the Vegetarian Festival this week.
She and her family are cooking up delicious noodles, som tum (papaya salad), fried banana, spring rolls and more, and are giving them away free. Anyone who wants to, can eat on site or take some home to feed the family.
Auntie Lek is the proprietor of the Pha Lek Food Court on Soi 999 in Naklua, and said her giveaway comes from her heart and is not meant to be advertising or a publicity stunt. She says she wants to make merit by giving something back to society and helping those less fortunate.
She also says she is very happy to see people eating the foods that she cooks.
