Banglamung to mark Mother’s Day with alms offering to 82 monks

Banglamung will offer alms to 82 monks as the district celebrates HM the Queen’s 81st birthday Aug. 12.

District Chief Sakchai Taengho presided over the Aug. 1 planning meeting for the Mother’s Day ceremonies at the King Rama V Monument.

Planners decided that Pattaya City Hall will be responsible for decorating the stage, Banglamung District will invite the monks, the Banglamung Police Station will handle security and the district Public Health Office will organized first aid stations.

Ceremonies begin at 7 a.m. with alms giving to 82 monks. Citizens are advised to dress in white or government uniform. At 8:30 a.m., Chonburi MPs, politicians and residents will make offerings of flowers and incense to a painting of the queen.
