PATTAYA – The exodus of speedboat operators from Pattaya Beach not only has streamlined marine services, it has improved traffic on Beach Road.

Traffic police reported May 9 that cars and trucks were moving much faster on the busy shoreline drive since May 7, when the vast majority of boats were relocated to the South Pattaya jetty.

About 20 percent of boat operators were still using the sand to berth, but police aggressively were ensuring that tour buses and taxis weren’t double-parking or blocking lanes.

The large number of coaches dropping off and picking up passengers on the beach, as well as the hoardes of tourists crossing the road, were major reasons for Beach Road congestion in the mornings and afternoon.
