More than 100 area doctors and nurses were briefed on the latest technology used to care for heart-disease patients at a Bangkok Hospital Pattaya seminar.

BHP cardiology center head Dr. Sujit Banyatpiya­phod opened the Sept. 19 workshop that covered both professional care and advice for patients.

Nurses were given special training on high-tech tools they can use under a doctor’s supervision to provide care to heart-disease patients.

The event also featured numerous booths showing off medical equipment and tools.

Those at risk of heart disease were advised to refrain from smoking, consume no more than moderate amounts of alcohol, exercise daily and control their weight. They also were told to avoid stress.
