A tractor-trailer driver made already bad Sukhumvit Road traffic even worse Oct. 21 when he crashed his big rig into a construction barrier near Soi Siam Country Club.
Suwit Pomareng, the 38-year-old driver of the Permsap 999 Logistics truck, told police that he was cut off by a motorbike and, to avoid killing the biker, he had no other choice than to veer into the barrier put up to prevent vehicles from entering the construction site for the Central Road bypass tunnel.

In the end, no one was injured, but the accident blocked Sukhumvit in an area where the number of lanes already were reduced due to construction, making matters worse.
Suwit was brought to Pattaya Police Station for questioning and a blood-alcohol test.
