An 11-year-old boy died while dragging a fishing net across a Jomtien Beach lake.
The body of Thammanit Chaibut was pulled from the swampy, 4-meter-deep lake on Soi Wat Boonsamphan off Sukhumvit Road after a nearly two-hour search March 7.
Somsamai Chaibut, 41, father of an 11-year-old girl who accompanied Thammanit, said the two had been asked by a fisherman two drag a fishing net across the lake. While swimming across, the boy got tangled in the net and drowned.
