A British motorcyclist died after crashing into the back of a parked truck in Jomtien Beach.

Gregory Lee Simmons, 51, died at the scene of the Feb. 3 collision in front of the Thai Namtip Co. His KTM 600cc motorcycle laid near the body.

Manit Chairath, 41, the driver of the parked Hino truck, said he and a co-worker were putting up advertising signs on a traffic island before the incident. He parked the car on the side of the road and switched on his hazard lights and placed traffic cones, 20 meters from the vehicle as well, he said.

As they continued to work, they heard a big crash and turned find the big bike had rear-ended their vehicle, killing Simmons on impact.
