A British man who left his fat wallet at a Naklua mini-mart had his holiday saved when the shop owner returned it.

Phetnoi Moot, 47, found the wallet lying on a table in her store on Soi Potisan March 3 and turned it in to Banglamung Police Station. She said she didn’t consider keeping it as she felt bad for the owner’s loss.

The wallet, containing 55,000 baht, 4,950 rupee, credit cards and documents, belonged to Adam Morris, 39.

The British construction engineer said he was on the last day of his first trip to Thailand and was killing time having a beer while waiting to head to the airport. Realizing he was late, he rushed out and didn’t discover he was missing his wallet until shortly later.

He traced back his steps and Phetnoi told him she had turned it in. They went to the station together and he gave her a cash reward.
