Pattaya police arrested a man shooting into the sky and a man caught with a hand grenade at a police checkpoint.
Seksan Kumnung, 26, was arrested after police, feeling he was acting suspiciously, found the MK2 grenade hidden in a black shoulder bag. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit was called to remove it.
The Buri Ram native claimed one of his friends left it with him and he forgot it was in the bag. He said he knew it was illegal, but forgot Pattaya would have checkpoints over the holiday.
Elsewhere, police we called to a house on Soi Wat Boonkanjanaram 5 after neighbors reported gunshots. They found Sanya Jakkaew, 42, sitting in a truck outside, a loaded 45-caliber pistol on the seat next to him.
Sanya confessed he shot the gun into the sky during a fight with his girlfriend who lived there.
