The Royal Thai Navy rescued a Burmese fisherman who jumped overboard to escape a group of Cambodian crewmembers.

The HTMS Pattani pulled the naked, 29-year-old “Rambo” from the sea about 2.5 miles from Sattahip April 3. He was given food, clothes and a medical treatment.

Rambo said he’d been working in Thailand for seven years piloting a paired trawler. Recently, the Thai owner employed a crew of Cambodians who threatened him. While everyone was sleeping, he jumped ship.

Working in the kingdom illegally, Rambo was processed for deportation.
