A Cambodian boat crewman has been arrested for the alleged sexual assault on a minor.
Wan Sa-gnuan, 27, was taken into custody July 10 following questioning of five crewmembers of the boat Kongsamut 8, which is used to provide “sea walker” services in Pattaya Bay.
Police said he admitted that he touched the 13-year-old American-Thai girl, but it was not intentional nor assault. He claimed he was simply helping the girl out of the water and posing her for an optimal photo.
The girl’s 50-year-old American mother filed the police report.
The Khmer man was charged with sexual assaulting a minor.
