Pattaya car washers aren’t so keen on Songkran, but absolutely love the day after it ends.
Vehicles caked in powder, dirt and mud lined up at all the area car-care centers April 20 to wash off the muck accumulated over a week or more of water-throwing in Pattaya.
Kriengkrai Kaewsuksai, owner of the Poseidon Car Care wash in Naklua said the powder can eat away at paint, so car owners, especially those with new vehicles, want it washed off as soon as possible.
Normally, he said, the car wash does 80-100 vehicles a day, but on April 20 that number can hit 200. Business will be good for another week, he predicted.
