Central Festival recognizes Pattaya’s ‘ideal’ citizens

Central Festival Pattaya Beach lauded local athletes, politicians and celebrities for their work in the community as the beachfront mall opened its annual Grand Festival.

City Councilman Rattanachai Sutidechanai and Central Festival General Manager Weingthep Rattanasung hosted the Aug. 15 “Central Festival Pattaya Ideal Awards” to 10 individual who either work or live in the city.

President of the Diana Group Sopin Thappajug took the top award for the person bringing the most benefit to Pattaya.

The “Greatest Expat Contributor” award went to Margaret Grainger, vice president of the Hand to Hand Foundation.

The “Best Example Family” went to the home of Sinchai Wattanasartsathorn, President of Pattaya Business & Tourism Association.

“Most Popular Athlete” this year was voted to be Eak Boonsawat, a medal-winning windsurfer based in Pattaya.

The “Best Actor” prize went to Pope Thanawat Wattanaputh.

The “Young Successful Executive” was named Supachai Rattanaopart, managing director of the A-One Royal Cruise Hotel.

Best personality prizes went to Usa Kanjawattana, wife of Banglamung’s district chief and head of the Banglamung Red Cross, and Pornradith Jitramwong, assistant director of Banglamung’s Prevention and Suppression Department.

Pattaya’s top “fashionistas” this year were Uthumporn Rachatawattanakul, a board member for the YWCA Bangkok-Pattaya Center, and Sirianan Wisutthiwat, managing director of Siri Anan Kan Yang Co.

Following the award ceremony, all the recipients opened Central Festival’s new Beauty Gallery with Pope joining male and female models.

The opening offered makeup tutorials from famous cosmetic brands.

The day was all part of the mall’s 6th annual Anniversary Grand Festival offering discounts up to 30% with an extra 15% available on purchases from the Beauty Gallery and vouchers of up to 5,000 baht.

Shoppers who spent more than 2,000 baht qualified to win prizes including a diamond pendant, spa gift vouchers, meal vouchers, movie vouchers and more.
