Central Festival Pattaya Beach lit the tallest Christmas tree in the region to welcome the holiday and bid farewell to 2015.

Pattaya City Councilman Rattanachai Sutidechanai, Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Director Suladda Sarutilavan, Pattaya Police Chief Sukthat Pumpunmuang and former MP Poramet Ngampichet joined mall General Manager Sornchai Intorwichai and local business leaders to light the 25-meter-tall tree, with tourists and other community leaders looking on Nov. 24.

Sornchai said Central Festival is Pattaya’s premier international shopping mall offering a merry atmosphere before most other places in Thailand. Throughout the mall, department stores will also be decorated under a Christmas theme as well as offering a variety of Christmas goods and items.

Local political, business and law enforcement officials stand by to light up Central’s 25-meter-tall Christmas tree.

Photo booths and chimneys are located throughout the mall area for those who like to take photos and more.

The ceremony also included a Snow Queen Show plus Mickey Mouse Snowman and other Disney-themed displays.

Shoppers who spend more than 100 baht will receive a ticket and get a chance to win a lucky draw. Prizes include a ticket to Disneyland Hong Kong, Mickey Mouse teddy bears, Disney bags, and many more.

The special promotion runs through Jan. 15.
