Chonburi Deputy Gov. Chawalit Saeng-Uthai has been recognized for his career work fighting drugs.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the June 23 Bangkok ceremony recognizing civil servants who have worked diligently to prevent narcotics abuse and trafficking.
The Office of the Narcotics Control Board and the Pol. Gen. Pao Sarasin Foundation commended people and organizations that have shown excellent and outstanding work in narcotics prevention and resolution. Moreover, it honored people who died and were injured in drug-suppression operations.
This year 216 people were awarded honorary certificates, divided into five people for excellent work, 162 people for outstanding effort and 46 persons who were injured.
Chawalit was honored for his outstanding efforts in narcotics prevention and problem resolution.
