A Pattaya chicken vendor is forsaking profits to help society by selling chicken skewers for as little as 5 baht.
Every morning a long line of hungry people line up at Ploypatcha Taveesarancheun’s sidecar-motorbike Bovy Grilled Chicken cart on Soi Land Office opposite the Fly Bird Condominium complex.
A resident of the Soi Kopai Community, Ploypatcha says she makes enough profit to take care of her family, so keeps prices as low as possible. She’s betting selling bulk will be better business than high markups.
She flavors her grilled chicken skewers with black pepper and Thai herbs and offers three different sauces and sticky rice for a few extra baht. She also sells chicken liver, wings, legs, sausages and pork skewers for 5-10 baht each.
Ploypatcha can be found until noon outside Fly Bird Condo and then in the afternoon until 4 p.m. at the Wat Chaimongkol Market until 4 p.m.
