Chinese tourist killed in jet ski collision

A Chinese tourist was killed during a collision between his jet ski and a moving speedboat off Koh Larn.

Qi Ding, 25, died at Pattaya Memorial Hospital after being rescued of Tawaen Beach April 25.

Speedboat driver Daranai Kamjornklang said he was taking 18 tourists from Koh Larn back to Pattaya in the Sea Hawk 430 boat in high seas. The waves obscured his vision and he never saw the watercraft before impact.

Chinese tourist Qi Ding died as a result of a collision between the jet ski he was riding and a moving speedboat off Koh Larn.

The impact threw Qi and jet ski attendant Aphisal Feaungkorn, who was riding pillion, into the sea.

Danupol Kaewreuanma, a tour guide, told a similar story to police.

The driver was detained for questioning as police considered charges.
