Chonburi hands out free glasses, other aid in Pattaya

The Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization handed out care packages, free eyeglasses and mobility aids for over 1,700 people at the “Together Caring For Citizens” event in Pattaya.

Chonburi PAO President Wittaya Kunplome presided over the March 13 event at the Eastern National Indoor Stadium where 1,544 bags of household necessities, 140 sets of glasses and 41 canes and walkers for senior citizens were donated to residents of Banglamung, Laem Chabang, and Huay Yai.

The event brought together 45 provincial, state enterprise and private organizations that set up booths selling locally made products and handing out lots of freebies, such as baby fish, organic fertilizer, vegetable seeds and more.

People also could take advantage of free haircuts and eye exams.

Wittaya said that the project was held to provide an opportunity for residents to meet and discuss their problems with officials from the three areas.

The next similar event will be held for residents of Thewawong and Koh Sichang at the Koh Sichang municipal office March 27.
