Chonburi’s governor led provincial residents in mourning His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej following his death in Bangkok at age 88.
Pakarathorn Thienchai presided over the ceremony mirroring the Royal Bathing Rite held at the Grand Palace Oct. 14 before a portrait of the late monarch.
Provincial leaders, military personnel, police officers and residents turned out for the ceremony.
The province also hosted an “Aphidham” ceremony on Oct. 17 at Khaonbangsrai Temple.
The Chonburi provincial hall is open for the public to sign condolences books.
