Chonburi officials brainstormed ideas on how to prevent or mitigate the province’s incessant rainy-season flooding.

Head of administration at Chonburi City Hall, Pratan Surakitbaworn presided over the Nov. 6 meeting during which the Chonburi Highway District, Highway Maintenance Office, Rural Roads Office and city hall were instructed to work together to survey flood-damaged roads and give their opinions on 10 proposed projects in the national government’s 2.2 trillion baht infrastructure bill.

Heavy rain and two typhoons have exacted a large toll on the province. On Oct. 22, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra instructed officials to find solutions to flooding in Chonburi.
