Chonburi officials, students plant trees for Mother’s Day

Chonburi officials led students to plant trees at the Sila Reservoir to honor HM the Queen for her upcoming 81st birthday.

Provincial Administrative Organization Vice President Surasit Nitiwuthiwararak led the Aug. 2 event with students from BTS 36 Police Academy. The group planted mangrove trees to root on the lake’s bank and create a ecosystem for marine life.

One of HM the Queen’s driving interests has been preservation and restoration of the environment. Surasit said the activity was perfect to commemorate Mother’s Day.

Tree planting will help students understand the role of mangroves in marine ecosystems and restore the environment.
