Chonburi has opened a one-stop service center for registered migrant laborers whose work permits expired on March 31.

The center for Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia nationals working in factories and the fishing industry opened April 1 and will remain operational until June 30. The province also will run a mobile center at Aow Udom Community Hall in Sriracha until further notice.

The just-expired pink work permits were issued last year after the National Council for Peace and Order announced a crackdown on illegal foreign laborers. Due to a shortage of workers for low-wage positions, the program was continued, with the government announcing that anyone with a pink permit was eligible to renew it from 2,660 baht.
