Chonburi raises 275,000 baht for flood-hit South

Chonburi residents donated more than 275,000 baht to assist victims of severe flooding in southern Thailand.

Gov. Pakarathorn Thienchai chaired a Jan. 16 event to accept donations of goods, clothes, food, water and cash from residents of 11 districts.

In all, the province raised 276,450 baht in cash, plus piles of vital supplies and clothing.

The Dhamma Rassamee Maneerath Foundation also contributed four flat boats to support the cause as well.

The governor said fundraising will continue as long as necessary. (CPRD)
