Chonburi raised nearly 275,000 baht for children in rural areas that will be handed out during the year through a royally sponsored program.
Gov. Khomsan Ekachai hosted the Rural Development Fund event March 31 at the provincial hall. Civil servants, community leaders, and businesses chipped in 274,569 baht for children in outlying areas.
Sponsored by HRH Princess Sirindhorn, the fund has been administered by the Interior Ministry since 1979.
Chonburi, in total, has raised 2 million baht for the fund and dispersed 470,000 baht of that in 2014.
