The Chonburi Red Cross handed out a million baht in scholarships and provided kids living far from school free bicycles.
Red Cross Vice-President Sasithorn Preechawit led the Sept. 13 donation ceremony at Chonburi’s Chalermprakiet Pavilion.
Sasithorn said the Red Cross understands that many students lack funds for years of continuous education and that others are hampered even more by rural locations far from the classroom. She said poor kids need to understand they are entitled to the same education as a well-to-do city dweller.
