Chonburi officials are looking for solutions to ease traffic congestion on Highway 7, which is creating obstacles for business and logistics.
Deputy Gov. Phawat Lertmukda chaired a Nov. 6 meeting at Chonburi Provincial Hall called following a visit by Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak to Laem Chabang Port on Oct. 31 during which the problem of traffic was raised as an obstacle to economic growth.
Phawat said construction on the Bangkok-Chonburi Expressway is the major reason for congestion and assigned staffers to find ways to minimize traffic delays.
The meeting also served as a forum to discuss other traffic problems and their impact on business and logistics at the port and nearby industrial estates.
