Chonburi has begun training leaders for Thailand’s national community-based drug-prevention program.
Deputy Gov. Phakhathorn Thienchai opened the Aug. 23 training workshop at Pattaya’s Alcazar Theatre.
The National Command Center for Drugs program sprung from HM the Queen’s Aug. 12 birthday message that called on Thais to unite and be each others’ eyes and ears in the fight against drugs.
Phakhathorn said the NCCD calls for anti-drug programs to be set up in every city and village in the country to monitor drug use, preach an anti-drug message and set up royal Mother of the Nation Fund villages.
The training seminar organized projects to promote knowledge, skills and increase the potential of NCCD coordinators in villages and communities and improve their skills.
