Pattaya MP Poramet Ngampichet and Deputy Mayor Verawat Khakhay rewarded the city’s sanitation staff with two bags of rice as bonuses to sanitation engineers.

The deputy mayor said the bonus was for two months of tireless work related to incessant flooding during the rainy season.

“The distribution of necessary items is one of the projects that has always been conducted by Pattaya to help alleviate the expenses from officers or employees families, the majority of whom are doing field work whether in maintenance, public parks, or cleaning,” Verawat said. “Most of these officers or employees work laboriously and the compensation from the government is not as high compared to the tiredness and expenses liabilities of each individual.”
