More than 250 city workers and teachers received vaccinations for the H1N1 influenza strain.

Deputy Mayor Wutisak Rermkitkarn, city council members and top bureaucrats participated in the Sept. 13 Public Health Department event at city hall. There, city workers, teachers from Pattaya’s 11 public schools and other education personnel all rolled up their sleeves to get flu shots.

The Public Health Department also performed free health screenings, blood-pressure checks and offered advice on how to quit smoking and avoid sexually transmitted diseases.

“In today’s world, having good health is considered extremely lucky since the changes around us have led to countless diseases … good health is not for sale,” Wutisak said. “It depends on us to discipline ourselves. Therefore, I would like to encourage all to give importance to good health for happiness to yourself and people who love you and you love to be happy too.”
