BANGKOK, Thailand – The Meteorological Department has announced a significant drop in temperatures across Thailand, particularly in the northeastern region, where temperatures are expected to decrease by 4-6°C with strong winds. In the central, eastern, and Bangkok areas, temperatures will drop by 1-3°C. People in these regions are advised to take care of their health due to the cooler weather.
The weather forecast predicts a new cold air mass moving from China will cover the northeastern region and the upper part of the South China Sea. The cold front is expected to spread across northern Thailand today, bringing colder conditions, particularly in the northeastern region.
The Southeast Asian monsoon is intensifying, leading to more rainfall in the southern regions, some areas experiencing heavy rain. Sea conditions will also become more severe, with waves reaching up to 3 meters in the lower Gulf of Thailand. People in coastal areas of the south are warned to be cautious due to heavy rains and strong waves, and small boats in the Gulf are advised to stay ashore until January 28.
In Bangkok and surrounding areas, expect chilly mornings with strong winds and temperatures ranging from 21-23°C in the early morning to 31-34°C during the day. (TNA)
